Mrs Wharmby
I first started teaching in secondary school teaching computing and ICT. I taught in two secondary schools before being introduced to the world of primary school and since that day I have never looked back.
I was lucky enough to train to become a SENCO and work to support some of the most disadvantaged children, a job which I have never stopped enjoying.
In my spare time I am busy looking after my own three children and enjoy nothing more than family days out and a good cup of tea with a biscuit. I have grown up in the Folkestone area, and feel very passionate about improving education for the next generation.
Mrs Paez
After completing my Genetics degree at Cardiff University, I spent 9 months working as a Teaching Assistant at a Primary School in Dover before travelling around the world.
I quickly realised that I really loved working with children and I decided to complete a PGCE at Christ Church University College so I could become a teacher.
My first teaching role was at Whitstable Junior School. After this, I moved to London and taught in a Primary School in Tower Hamlets. I was still keen to travel so, I decided to take a teaching position in an International School in Thailand. This gave me the opportunity to learn lots about different cultures and visit a number of countries in Asia. Then I moved to China and worked in an International School there.
I’ve been at Mundella since July 2016 and I absolutely love it! I lead on the school curriculum and I am passionate about all subjects and giving children memorable learning experiences.
Mrs Blunden
Before training to become a teacher, I was a micro biology laboratory assistant. However my dream and vocation in life was to become a teacher and I completed my training at Christchurch University College in 1994.
Since then, I have worked as a class teacher in EYFS, KS1 and KS2 and as part of the senior leadership team at schools in Kent.
I love reading and trained additionally as a reading recovery teacher. This has helped me to develop a deeper insight into the challenges that children face trying to navigate the English language.
I have a Science degree and love to share the wonder and awe of the world with children.

Miss Parnham
After finishing school, I worked as a teaching assistant in various schools before going to university to complete my teacher training. After my degree in Primary Education, I worked in a small school outside Ashford before coming to Mundella. I am passionate about making sure every child has the opportunity to achieve whatever it is they want to.
I love being a teacher, I think it’s one of the only jobs where you get to laugh every single day!
Mrs James
When I was applying for university, my plan was to do a course and become an architect, but after a two-week work placement I soon realised that working in an office environment was not for me! I was young and had no idea what I should be when I grew up...
During my time at secondary school, and again when I was at university, I had been working at McDonald's (a fact the children always love to hear) and I very quickly became involved in training new staff and shift management. I have always loved helping other people, teaching them new things and sharing my skills. Realising this was something I loved doing and I was naturally good at, I did some work experience in schools and soon realised that I absolutely loved it!
On reflection, I realised I had always been a teacher and I quickly applied for a teaching degree at Canterbury Christ Church University, where I specialised in teaching languages and art. Whilst at university I spent some time in France, teaching English as a foreign language and nowadays I love to holiday in France whenever I get a chance.
No two days are the same in teaching, working with children is a privilege and I love to see the children in my class thrive and grow each year. I am passionate about making learning fun and interesting and encouraging children to be inquisitive and curious about the world around them.
Mrs Gretton
For the past twenty years I have worked, in a variety of roles, in four different primary schools in South East Kent; as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Midday supervisor and I have even had a go at being the Lollipop Lady!
I have a degree in Childhood Studies which led to my passion for my present role of Senior Family Liaison Officer. I have recently become a staff governor and enjoy contributing to school life for our pupils.
In my spare time I enjoy musical theatre, concerts and spending time with my two grandsons.
